The FAU welcomes Prof. Dr. Gözde Gül Şahin, the new holder of the Chair of Intelligent Language Systems. Her research focuses on natural language processing (NLP), which is the technology behind large language models, machine translation, and grammar correction. She has a particular interest in helping AI systems handle low-resource languages and unfamiliar tasks. Before joining the FAU, she was a professor at Koç University in Turkey and a member of UKP Lab at TU Darmstadt. More details can be found here.
